Honduras/England Report and Upcoming Nicaragua Trip

Dear Fishnetters,

What a way to begin our year of travel adventures with the Lord!  Tonya Reed and I had a great trip to Honduras and England.  The thing that stands out most in my mind about the trip is the many times we were able to counsel and pray with individuals, especially the leaders.  This is where we felt the power of your prayers, because rivers of living water were definitely flowing to and through us.

Here we are with our Honduras hosts,

missionaries Mike and Betty Kaszer.

These folks are working with an Episcopal school and church in the city of La Ceiba

They organized a wonderful variety of meetings,

ministry to students,

a concert in the school,

women's meetings,

and a village church service.

(This note from Celeste, who responded for prayer in school, and whose mother also prayed at the evening concert,)

"Thank you for being a wonderful person.  I love you so much.  Thanks for all the beautiful songs that you sing to us.  Take Care." Celeste

The students wrote beautiful letters to us after we visited:

"Dear Nancy, Your music is very cool.  To be honest with you, I never heard about you and your music, but hear what I want to tell you.  Your music change my life.  It makes me to consider what Jesus have done for me, everything He suffered." Moises

"I want to say that you testimony about your son makes me understand that God has a purpose for all of us."  Francys

We especially loved hiking out to the village called La Lina, named because of it’s proximity to the railroad track.

We met the village leader, Don Rodriguez, who was responsible for bringing the church to his people.

Here we are with the village head man, Don Rodriguez.

Mike and Betty, our host missionaries, had brought a sack of provisions to give to each village family.

The service was out in the open -

what a sweet spirit!

Who could help but love these sweet girls!

After our time in Honduras we headed to England.  We were so blessed to be able to see Tonya's hero,

Baroness Caroline Cox, a member of the House of Lords, and a powerful spokesperson for the persecuted church.

She told us that her friends sang Pioneer to her for her birthday.  Wow!

The main objective of our time in England was to strengthen our relationship with Elam Ministries.  (You can read more about them at Elam.com.)

Elam serves the revival going on in a Central Asian country, much in our present news in a negative context, but Jesus is saving many there.

From their headquarters they provide training and resources.

Here I am ministering in their chapel service.  Everyone sang along beautifully when we did "Call of the Harvest" in Farsi.

We ministered in this wonderful church on Thursday to the women and on Sunday to the whole congregation.

The pastor is the brother of one of the martyrs in their nation, who fought tirelessly for the release of another pastor from prison, and then was murdered.

Tonya spoke on forgiveness and getting out of the pit of depression.  Both messages were powerful, timely, and enthusiastically received.

Once again, there were many who came forward to receive personal prayer and counsel.
I especially enjoyed hearing the congregation singing along with me on Call of the Harvest!
While we were visiting Elam headquarters, we had the privilege of spending time with the director.  He asked us to begin organizing prayer groups (target size around 10 people in each) to adopt the cities of this Central Asian country and intercede.  If you are interested in more information about this exciting prayer ministry, please contact me at honeytree@onehundred.com or Tonya at tonyareed108@gmail.com and we will fill you in on more detail than we are able to share in this format.

Now for our next adventure!  William is going with me to Nicaragua from June 12 - 21.

I thought you would enjoy this photo of Will in Nicaragua 7 years ago when he was just 6.  He brought his McDonald's toys to give to some school children.

Now he's 13 and will be working with a youth group from Michigan.  The team will be doing children's ministry, including a baseball clinic!

We are going to bring baseball equipment with us to give to the kids who participate in the clinics.

Please pray with us about this trip - for a safe, healthy and fruitful time of ministry.

I will be participating in women's ministry and another part of the 28 member team will be doing a bike mission, riding to towns and giving bikes to pastors.  We are joining with Syd and Liz Doyle for this mission.  Our host pastors are Victor and Angie Benitez, and Angie's mom, Ruth Martinez is bringing a team from Mexico.

We need to raise $2,000 and we would like to gather baseball equipment to take with us.  Your prayers and giving are always very much appreciated.

Please pray with us regarding the home front, also, as we are very intensely in the process of selling our home, buying a new one (still in Fort Wayne) with enough room for our offices and studio, preparing to move the offices and studio, Phew!

Also, hallelujah, baseball season has begun.  Will pitched 6 of 7 innings of the first game (on the major league length diamond) and his team won 6-0.  Way to go, slugger!

Love in Jesus,
Nancy Honeytree Miller
